Im New

First of All!

You will be given be a warm welcome and we just want you to feel at home when you arrive, please ask one of the welcome team if you need any help.

What to Wear?

Dress comfortable. You will feel right at home wearing anything from jeans to business casual.

What do I do when I get there?

Whenever you visit somewhere for the first time it can be a bit daunting and you can be unsure where to park and where to go when you first enter the building. We have a small car park just off The Avenue, which is situated just off Station Road, this can fill up quickly, so if you are arriving just before the meeting start time, the best place to park is somewhere on Station Road or on Eggshill Lane. Once you get in the building, make yourself known to one of the Welcome Team and they will guide you and answer any questions you may have.

What to Expect?

We cannot guarantee the exact format of the Sunday Services but here are some things that we would call the norm:

The morning meeting starts at 10:30am and aims to finish at 12:15pm. The evening meeting commences at 5:30pm and will conclude just before 7:00pm (but please check our programme before travelling).

Praise and Worship

We usually start with a time of praise and worship, when we sing songs that convey the message of how we feel about God. In traditional Churches these are called hymns although our style of music tends to be more contemporary. Our meetings are lively, with enthusiastic and vibrant worship.

Bible Teaching

A speaker, usually a Pastor, will talk or preach on a topic from the Bible. We believe the Bible is the Word of God and therefore the guide by which we should live our lives. Some speakers encourage a little audience participation by asking you to repeat a scripture or a word to the person next to you. Do not in any way feel pressured into doing this and please do not feel embarrassed or uncomfortable.

At times during the Service we pray - this is our way of communicating with God. We bring to Him various requests as well as giving thanks for all He has done for us. We don't just believe that God hears our prayers - we are so privileged to see Him continually answer prayer in a wide range of situations. If you have any prayer requests, please feel free to see one of our Stewards.

Holy Spirit

As a Pentecostal Church we believe in something called the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. One of the most unusual Gifts is 'Speaking in Tongues', which is where a person talks in a language other than their own. This is totally Bible-based so please don't feel in any way uncomfortable if you hear it. Whilst it is rare that anyone in the congregation understands what is being said, our belief is that it is a 'heavenly' language that God fully understands.

We take an offering during most Services which helps towards the running of the Fellowship. This is primarily for regular attenders, so whilst every gift is appreciated and will be wisely used, please do not feel under any pressure to contribute financially.

On some Sundays, generally twice a month, we share Communion. This is something that Jesus did when He was on earth and asked that we continue to do it in memory of Him. During Communion we share bread, representing His body, and wine, representing His blood, which are both symbolic of the fact He gave His life for us. Communion is open to anyone who has accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour, otherwise we ask that you respectfully let the bread and wine pass by.

We are a happy people and one of our greatest desires is that you relax in the knowledge that you will not be pressured into doing anything but simply enjoy being in an environment which is uplifting and glorifying to God.

If you need to leave early

Whilst we hope you will enjoy the Service and want to stay to the end, we fully understand if you need to leave early.
